A shirt for the 🐐 A’ja Wilson
When A’ja asks me to design a shirt, I get a bit nervous, but it’s a good kind of nervous. I usually get the gist of what’s needed and start working. This time, I needed to think outside the box so I could incorporate all three players. I had an idea to create a reimagined magazine cover at first. I ended up doing it, but then I thought, “Let me Google girl groups.” I narrowed it down to three-member girl groups and voila! There it was, the TLC CrazySexyCool album cover. It was so perfect and fitting, in my opinion. I could even use their nicknames as the album title. I found headshots of the three and positioned them just like the cover. I added the orange tint, some dithering, and made sure the eyes had the white around the pupils. I sent it over, and everyone was thrilled. This is one of those projects that I’ll never forget, and I hope to get more opportunities like this in the future.
